Cadillac has once again turned heads in its debut Formula 1 season, unveiling yet another revised livery at the Belgian Grand Prix — the team's third distinct look in just half a campaign. The American outfit has moved away from the split black-and-white design it launched during the Super Bowl halftime show and is now running a permanent white livery inspired by the stars-and-stripes scheme it debuted at the Miami Grand Prix.
The decision marks a significant stylistic commitment for the new entrant, which has already run three different colour schemes in 2026: the asymmetric Super Bowl livery, the Miami tribute design, and a one-off special marking the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence at Silverstone. Now, the Miami-inspired white look becomes the team's permanent identity.
Team Principal Graeme Lowdon explained the rationale behind the frequent changes, emphasising that they reflect Cadillac's broader philosophy in Formula 1. "We launched the asymmetric livery during the Super Bowl halftime show, which we thought was just another way of showing that the team wants to approach Formula 1 a little bit differently," Lowdon said on Friday at Spa-Francorchamps.
"We said we would try and bring a few different things to Formula 1. I think that was a really positive move, and we ran that livery for a while." Lowdon credited the overwhelmingly positive fan reception to the Miami design as a key factor. "The livery we have now is actually quite similar to that Miami livery. The fan reaction has been really positive as well."
The mid-season switch underlines Cadillac's stated mission to challenge conventions since arriving on the grid. Lowdon pointed out that the team's approach extends beyond paint schemes. "As a team, if you look at not just livery changes but upgrades, I think we're pretty high up there on the count of upgrades we brought to the car," he said. "It's never been about just getting here, it's always been about trying to get here as a team and do what all the other teams do, which is push the boundaries."
With the white livery now locked in for the remainder of 2026, Cadillac signals it is ready to focus on performance gains while maintaining the distinctive visual identity that has already made it one of the most recognisable entries on the grid.
