David Alaba successfully completed his medical examinations at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome on September 23, clearing the way for his free-agent move to Udinese. The 34-year-old Austrian defender immediately set off for Udine, where he is expected in the coming hours to put pen to paper on his new contract.
The medical tests, which began at around 13:30 local time, lasted approximately five hours without any complications. According to Sky Sport Italia, all checks came back positive, allowing Alaba to travel north and complete the remaining formalities with the Serie A club.
The Austrian centre-back has been a free agent since June 30, when his contract with Real Madrid expired. Despite reported interest from other Serie A sides, Union Berlin, Club America, Inter Miami and Al-Sadd, Alaba opted for a surprise move to Udinese.
