The draw for the 2026 Davis Cup Final 8 has been made in Bologna, pitting defending champions Italy against South Korea in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The ceremony, held on Tuesday 22 September at the Palazzo Pepoli in Bologna, set the path for the eight qualified nations ahead of the tournament, which will take place from 24 to 29 November at the BolognaFiere Arena.
Italy, chasing a fourth consecutive title under captain Filippo Volandri, were drawn as the top seeds and will open their campaign against South Korea, coached by Jong-Sam Chung. A victory would set up a semi-final against either Canada or the Czech Republic.
In the other half of the draw, Spain — led by captain David Ferrer — will face Austria, while Germany take on Great Britain in the remaining quarter-final.
The draw was conducted in the presence of FITP President Angelo Binaghi and tournament director Feliciano Lopez, with the eight qualifying nations all represented.
A key question mark for Italy remains the availability of world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who has been managing a knee injury this season. Speaking after the draw, Italian tennis officials indicated that a final decision on Sinner's participation is expected only in the days leading up to the tournament.
South Korea qualified for the Final 8 through the qualifying rounds, making their first appearance in the showpiece event. Spain, the second-seeded team, will be looking to make a deep run on Italian soil.
All matches will be broadcast live and free-to-air on SuperTennis and SuperTennis Plus. The BolognaFiere Arena, which hosted Italy's triumphant run in 2025, will once again serve as the stage for the sport's premier team competition.
The draw marks another milestone for the Davis Cup under its current format, with the Final 8 weekend bringing together the continent's top nations for a week of intense tie-based competition.
