Guo and Mladenovic capture Wimbledon 2026 women's doubles title

It was a first Grand Slam title as a team for the Chinese-French duo, and a maiden major trophy for Guo. For Mladenovic, a former doubles world No. 1, it was a seventh women's doubles major and a 10th overall, adding to three mixed doubles crowns. The Frenchwoman's previous Slam triumph had come at Roland Garros in 2022.

The run was anything but straightforward. Guo and Mladenovic knocked out top seeds Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend in the quarterfinals, also in straight sets, and dropped just one set across six matches — against Anastasia Detiuc and Irina Khromacheva in the third round, where they saved a second-set tiebreak. They won all three tiebreaks they contested on the way to the title.

In the final, the pair raced to a 5-0 lead and weathered a late fightback to take the opener. In the second set, with the score level at 5-5, they broke Stefani's serve with three return winners — the last a Guo forehand — before Guo sealed the championship with a volley winner.

"It's my first Grand Slam and I'm very proud to be standing here with her," Mladenovic said of Guo, who asked her to partner at the start of the season as Mladenovic returned from injury without a ranking.

The triumph also reshapes the rankings: Mladenovic is projected to climb to No. 13 in the doubles standings, while Guo reaches a new career-high of No. 9 for her Top 10 debut. It is the pair's second title of 2026, after Auckland in January, and their first Wimbledon crown in the discipline.
