Federico Gatti headed in a 92nd-minute equaliser to rescue a point for Juventus after Alphadjo Cissé's second-half strike had put AC Milan on the brink of a statement away win at the Allianz Stadium.
The result, which leaves both teams on seven points from three Serie A matches, felt like justice on balance but inflicted real pain on the visitors, who had been three minutes from sealing all three points in Turin.
Cissé, who had been introduced as a substitute just eight minutes before his goal, latched onto a loose ball in the 68th minute to score his second league goal of the season — both scored in Turin, the first against Torino on his debut. The finish was clinical and the celebration emphatic, but it was Gatti who would have the last word.
With the clock deep into stoppage time, the centre-back rose to meet a Koopmeiners cross and steered a firm header past Mike Maignan, sending the Allianz Stadium into delirium and snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat.
A Tactical Chess Match Opens Up After the Break
The first half had been an affair of few clear chances, with both sides cautious and structured in their approach. Juventus, missing Kenan Yildiz, Khephren Thuram, Weston McKennie, Andrea Cambiaso, Jeff Ekhator, Juan Cabal and deadline-day signing Pape Matar Sarr, gave first starts of the season to Nico González and Kerim Alajbegović.
Milan, without Matteo Gabbia due to an ankle problem, fielded Adrien Rabiot and Luka Modrić from the start after both had been gradually reintegrated following their post-World Cup break. Diego Moreira made his debut for the Rossoneri.
González tested Maignan early, as did Francisco Conceição, while Locatelli narrowly missed the target with a low drive. But neither side could break the deadlock before the interval.
The game opened up after the break. Cissé's introduction changed the dynamic for Milan — the Ivorian's pace and directness gave Juve's defence real problems — and his goal appeared to be the decisive moment. However, Thiago Motta's side continued to push, and the introduction of Nick Woltemade for his Juventus debut added another dimension in attack.

For Milan, the frustration will be acute. Conceding so late after such a disciplined defensive display is a blow to morale, even if the overall performance — characterised by concentration and responsibility on a hostile stage — offered genuine positives for the Rossoneri's project under new management.
For Juventus, the comeback was reminiscent of the resilience they have shown in the early weeks of the campaign, even as the injury list continues to mount. Gatti's goal was his first of the season and underlined his importance in both boxes.
Both teams now sit on seven points from three matches, level on points and unbeaten. The gap between them, however, is measured not in the table but in the emotional residue of a match that swung on a single header in the dying seconds.
