Thybulle, 29, spent the last three-plus seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, averaging 5.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 30 games last season while limited by thumb and knee injuries. A two-time NBA All-Defensive selection (2022, 2023), the 29-year-old wing is regarded as one of the league's premier perimeter defenders.
A first-round draft pick in 2019, Thybulle began his career with the Philadelphia 76ers and won a bronze medal with the Australian national team at the Tokyo Olympics. The Lakers now have 16 players under contract after also adding Ziaire Williams on Monday, and will need to make an additional move before the season.
