Former Wales and British and Irish Lions full-back Leigh Halfpenny has committed his coaching future to Cardiff Rugby, as reported by [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/articles/cn5n4lvk566o). The 37-year-old, who ended his glittering playing career at the close of the 2025-26 season, will remain at the Arms Park as a skills coach, working with senior players and academy talent.
Halfpenny, a 77-cap Wales international with 801 Test points, was part of Wales' coaching staff during their recent Nations Championship summer campaign. His experience as a three-time Lions tourist makes him one of the most respected figures in British rugby.
"There is a great group of players, who I enjoyed working with last season, and I believe I can add value to the group, while also helping the young players coming through," Halfpenny said. "It was a huge honour to work with Wales again this summer, I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity and I'm looking forward to bringing that experience back to the club."
