Lewis Hamilton surpasses entire 2025 points total in just 10 races of 2026 season with Ferrari

The seven-time world champion sits second in the drivers' championship for Ferrari, with five podiums including a victory at the Spanish Grand Prix, marking a remarkable turnaround from his difficult debut season with the Scuderia. In 2025, Hamilton failed to register a single grand prix podium finish for the first time in his F1 career and ended the campaign with three consecutive Q1 exits.

A fourth-place finish at Spa-Francorchamps lifted Hamilton to second in the standings, 45 points behind championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Hamilton is the only F1 driver to have completed every single racing lap in 2026, with his lowest finish being sixth place in both Japan and Miami.

Hamilton has credited ditching Ferrari's simulator as a key breakthrough behind his resurgence. "I tried all last year with it, but when I was at Mercedes for the first few years I didn't use it," he explained. "Simulators can be really powerful and useful tools, but they can also mislead you. Since I stopped, my performance has gone much, much better."

Hamilton's qualifying performances have also notably improved, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc 6-4 in qualifying head-to-heads while leading 6-4 on race day. He now heads to the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, where he holds the record for most wins (eight) and most pole positions (nine).
