Linda Noskova has won the Wimbledon women's title, defeating fellow Czech Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in an all-Czech final played on Saturday, July 11, 2026. For the 21-year-old from Třebíč, it is the first Grand Slam crown of her career.
The match was anything but straightforward. Noskova dominated the opening set, then wasted five match points and a 5-2 lead in the second, dropping the set and stepping off court for a bathroom break to regroup. It was during that brief pause that she caught sight of the two trophies on display — the Venus Rosewater Dish for the champion and the smaller plate for the runner-up — and resolved to take the bigger one. Back on court, she closed it out 6-3 in the decider, sealing victory with an ace on her sixth match point.
Shortly after, the new champion received the Venus Rosewater Dish from Kate, the Princess of Wales. "Karo, you really made me work for it," Noskova said in her victory speech, also paying tribute to her mother, who died two years earlier shortly before a previous Wimbledon.
