Two-time MotoGP world champion Pecco Bagnaia has used the championship's summer break to undergo arm pump surgery on his right forearm. The endoscopic fasciotomy procedure was successfully performed by Professor Luigi Tarallo at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Policlinico di Modena without complications.
Bagnaia, who closed the first half of his final season with the Ducati Lenovo team with a sixth-place finish at the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring, currently sits eighth in the world championship standings, 65 points behind leader Jorge Martín, who will take over his factory Ducati seat in 2027.
The operation was confirmed by an official Ducati statement: "This afternoon, Francesco Bagnaia underwent successful endoscopic fasciotomy surgery on his right forearm. The operation, performed by the medical team led by Professor Luigi Tarallo at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Policlinico di Modena, was completed successfully and without complications. Taking advantage of the MotoGP summer break, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider will now begin his scheduled recovery and rehabilitation."
