Sassuolo have completed the signing of Scotland international striker Kieron Bowie from Hellas Verona, with Samuele Mulattieri moving in the opposite direction.
Sassuolo announced the agreement on their official channels on Friday, with Bowie joining on loan with a conditional obligation to buy. Reports value the overall operation at €10.5m. Both clubs confirmed the transfer after all details, including medical tests and contracts, were finalised on the day of the announcement.
Bowie, who turns 24 in September and has two senior caps for Scotland, arrived in Serie A in January 2026 when Verona paid €6m to sign him from Hibernian. He made an immediate impact, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 14 league appearances.
The striker came through at Raith Rovers in his native Fife, making his first-team debut in Scottish League One at just 16. A loan at Northampton Town followed, where his five goals helped the club win promotion, and he added nine goals and six assists the following season in League One. He returned to Scotland in August 2024 to join Hibernian, where he recorded 15 goals and five assists in 52 appearances before his move to Italy.
Cagliari, Bologna and Celtic had also shown interest in Bowie before Sassuolo won the race for his signature. The Scotland international leaves Verona after a six-month spell in which he established himself as a regular starter in the Gialloblu's attack.
Mulattieri, who has just returned from a loan spell at Deportivo La Coruna, has joined Verona on loan with an option to buy that becomes an obligation if certain conditions are met, in a deal valued at €4.5m.
