Stefano Travaglia is smiling again on the main tour. Making his debut at the ATP 250 in Bastad, the 34-year-old from Italy's Marche region defeated Czech qualifier Martin Krumich 6-4 6-2, claiming his first win in an ATP main draw in more than four years.
The world No. 150 used his experience against the 23-year-old from Kolín, ranked No. 278, and also gained revenge for their only previous meeting: in 2025, Krumich had beaten him in the first round of qualifying at the Bunschoten Challenger, also on clay. In the second round, Travaglia will face fourth seed Mariano Navone.
Travaglia had not played a match in the main draw of an ATP event since the 2023 US Open. His previous ATP-level win dates back to the first round of the 2022 ATP 250 in Marseille, more than four years ago. Even further back was his last clay-court win on the main tour: that came in 2021 in Umago, a tournament played in the very same week as the Swedish event.
