Jordan Lee, 16-year-old qualifier, wins Wimbledon junior boys' title
American 16-year-old Jordan Lee has won the Wimbledon 2026 boys' junior title, rallying to beat Australia's Cruz Hewitt, son of Lleyton, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. Lee became only the second qualifier in history to claim the junior crown at the All England Club, a feat that underlines how far he has come through the qualifying draw to reach the sport's most famous grass.
Starting out in qualifying, the teenage American recovered from a set down in a final played on Sunday 12 July. The victory underlines the precocious talent of a 2009-born player already capable of competing at the top of the junior game and of handling the weight of a high-profile final against a name loaded with heritage.
On the other side of the net, Cruz Hewitt came close to writing family history before bowing to his younger opponent's fightback, a result that nonetheless puts the Hewitt name back in the spotlight a generation after his father's own Wimbledon exploits and near-misses at the very top.
Lee's triumph fits a tradition of emerging American talents and serves as a strong calling card ahead of the next junior events and beyond, marking him as one to watch as he transitions toward the professional ranks and the challenges of the men's tour. The result is a strong signal of the depth emerging in American junior tennis. Coaches pointed to his composure in the decider as the mark of a future senior contender. The final was broadcast to a worldwide audience.
