Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is on the verge of becoming a Monza player: the midfielder is moving from Inter on a permanent deal worth €7.5m plus 10% of a future sell-on. Crescenzo Cecere, the agent of the 2004-born Nigerian, has revealed the behind-the-scenes story of the operation.
"The negotiation started a long time ago, they asked me about him as early as February-March, but at that time he was at the Africa Cup of Nations, we had offers from abroad and I saw it as impossible," Cecere said. "Recently, though, the pressure from the directors and Baldissoni... Juric's call was decisive. I'm happy he will stay in Italy, we made an excellent choice. He's a player who still has to grow, but the Brianza club have made a great investment."
Somewhat surprisingly, Inter have decided not to include any buy-back or first-refusal clause in the deal: the Nerazzurri are letting the young midfielder go permanently, without securing any claim on his future.
