Angel Reese's 19th double-double helps Atlanta Dream beat Seattle Storm 98-89

Angel Reese produced 21 points and 13 rebounds for her 19th double-double of the season as the Atlanta Dream beat the Seattle Storm 98-89 on Friday night in College Park, Georgia, for their fifth straight victory.

Reese grabbed six offensive rebounds to pass Brionna Jones (136) for the most offensive rebounds in a single season by a Dream player, reaching 137 in just 27 games. The mark underlines a remarkable campaign for the All-Star forward, who has been the driving force behind Atlanta's climb up the WNBA standings.

Naz Hillmon added 18 points for Atlanta (18-10) and Allisha Gray had 16. Jones scored 14 points off the bench and Jordin Canada had 10 points and nine assists for Seattle. Rhyne Howard, averaging 17.2 points per game, was held to nine points on 3-of-13 shooting.

Atlanta led 87-74 with 3:53 left in the fourth quarter before Seattle went on a 10-2 run. The Storm trimmed the deficit to 92-88 with 43.4 seconds remaining, but Gray made two free throws at the other end to seal the result.

Natisha Hiedeman led Seattle (6-25) with 23 points, while Dominique Malonga added 16 points and 13 rebounds and Ezi Magbegor scored 12 off the bench. Flau'jae Johnson finished 2 of 11 from the field for the Storm, who slipped to their 25th loss of the season despite the late rally.

The win keeps Atlanta firmly in playoff contention, with Reese's consistency on the boards — six offensive rebounds in this one, her 19th double-double in 27 games — anchoring a Dream side that has now won five in a row.
