LONDON (AP) — Premier League champion Arsenal has completed the signing of Greece international Christos Tzolis from Belgian champions Club Brugge on a long-term contract, the club announced Thursday. The 24-year-old left-winger moves to the Emirates Stadium after two standout seasons in the Jupiler Pro League, where he scored 43 goals and provided 45 assists in all competitions.
"It’s absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England," Tzolis said upon completing the move. "I’m always hungry to score or to give the final pass."
The Greece international has already earned 34 caps for his national team and brings Premier League experience from a previous spell with Norwich. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta praised the new signing’s versatility and technical qualities, describing him as "an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line."
"He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability," Berta added.
Tzolis’s arrival adds further depth to Arsenal’s attacking options as the Gunners prepare to defend their Premier League title. His pace, direct running and goal contributions from the left flank could provide a new dimension to Mikel Arteta’s attack, particularly in domestic cup competitions and the Champions League.
The transfer fee was not disclosed, but Tzolis’s track record in Belgium — where he was one of the most productive wingers in the league — made him one of the most sought-after forwards available this summer. His previous experience in England with Norwich means he is already familiar with the physicality and pace of the Premier League.
Arsenal have been active in the transfer market this summer, and Tzolis represents another statement signing as the club aims to build on last season’s title triumph. The Greek forward is expected to join pre-season training immediately and could make his debut in the upcoming Community Shield or early Premier League fixtures.
