Bradley Barcola has completed his long-anticipated transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool for an initial £106m — a fee that could rise to £123m with performance-related add-ons. The France international has signed a five-year deal at Anfield, becoming the most expensive signing of the summer 2026 window.
Barcola, who turns 24 on Wednesday, described the move as the realisation of a personal ambition. "It took a long time but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play," he said. "I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League — it's one of my biggest dreams in my life."
The 23-year-old had been a long-term target for the Reds, who tracked his progress across multiple seasons. PSG initially valued the former Lyon winger at £145m, but a deal was eventually struck at a lower baseline. The final package also covers a solidarity payment PSG owed Lyon as part of the original 2023 transfer that brought Barcola to Paris for a reported £38.5m.
Barcola was reportedly adamant that his destination was Liverpool, turning down interest from other clubs. His preference for the left wing — despite being right-footed — adds a creative dimension to a forward line that lost Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah in successive summers. He can also operate on the right or as a central attacker, providing cover for Alexander Isak while Hugo Ekitike recovers from a serious Achilles injury.
The Frenchman scored three goals at the 2026 World Cup and arrives with a formidable honours list from his time in Paris: three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions Leagues, two French Cups, the Uefa Super Cup, and the Fifa Intercontinental Cup.
New manager Andoni Iraola, who replaced Arne Slot during the off-season, has prioritised attacking reinforcements throughout the window. Barcola follows the signings of 21-year-old Jérémy Jacquet and 23-year-old Victor Muñoz as Liverpool pursue a younger, long-term squad profile. The club rejected an £80m bid from Manchester City for Cody Gakpo over the weekend, signalling their intention to retain the Dutch forward despite Tottenham's reported interest as well.
