Former Spain defender Joan Capdevila (48, 2010 world champion) has publicly asked Donald Trump for help entering the United States to watch the Argentina-Spain World Cup final. His ESTA application was rejected because he played an exhibition with La Liga legends in Iran in 2016, after the March 2011 cutoff of the Visa Waiver program.
Capdevila wrote on X 'I NEED HELP @realDonaldTrump!', also contacting Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Spanish sports ministry. He wants to be at MetLife Stadium with his 2010 teammates to support Spain.
