Cruz Hewitt, the 17-year-old son of former world number one Lleyton Hewitt, earned his first career ATP main-draw victory on debut at the Washington Open.
The Australian defeated American Marcos Giron 6-3 6-4 in 74 minutes, at the same tournament his father won in 2004. Hewitt dedicated the win to his father with his trademark bicep celebration, an image that went viral worldwide.
A historic moment for the young Australian talent, writing the first chapter of his career on the main tour.
