Inter have announced a comprehensive €100 million redevelopment of their training facilities at Appiano Gentile (the Pinetina) and Interello, marking one of the most significant infrastructure investments in Italian football. The project, unveiled during the club's pre-season camp in Donaueschingen, Germany, will reshape the Nerazzurri's training environment over the next two years.
The centrepiece of the redevelopment is a brand-new first-team building at the Pinetina, featuring upgraded changing rooms, a state-of-the-art recovery area with a rehabilitation pool, sauna, and Turkish bath. An "Innovation Hub" will serve as a dedicated space for integrating data analysis, video technology, and specialist performance support, helping coaching staff better serve the squad.
Alongside the first-team facilities, a dedicated U23 building is scheduled to break ground in October. It will include a gym, physiotherapy area, video room, and a covered stand with hospitality space that doubles as a catering point during the season. A fifth training pitch will be added to accommodate the U23 side's programme.
The final phase involves renovating the main building, which houses the press conference room — set to expand to accommodate up to 80 journalists — along with other media and operational spaces.
At Interello, a new building for the women's team has already been completed, reflecting the club's commitment to developing its female section.
The first-team building is expected to be ready by the time Simone Inzaghi's squad returns from their Asia tour, while full completion of the entire project is slated for two years' time. Football operations director Marco Benetti is overseeing the project alongside the ownership group led by president Beppe Marotta.
"This is about long-term strategy and vision," the club stated, emphasising that the infrastructure upgrades go hand in hand with the sporting project. The investment also includes the "Mental Economy" protocol launched last year with professor Ceccarelli, who already works with top athletes including Jannik Sinner and Formula 1 drivers.
