AC Milan have officially secured the long-term futures of academy graduates Francesco Camarda and Christian Comotto, announcing contract extensions that bind both players to the club until June 2031, with a club option for an additional season through 2032.
The double announcement comes as part of owner Gerry Cardinale's stated commitment to retaining the club's most promising homegrown talent, following the departure of Mattia Liberali earlier in the window. Cardinale had publicly declared that Milan would not lose any more of its youth gems — and this twin renewal serves as emphatic proof of that pledge.
Camarda, 18, is widely regarded as one of the most promising young strikers in Italian football. After a bright start to his loan spell at Lecce last season, his campaign was disrupted by a shoulder injury that required surgery and sidelined him for three months. Despite that setback, the Rossoneri have shown complete faith in his recovery and long-term potential.
Comotto, 19, enjoyed a standout loan campaign with Spezia in Serie B, demonstrating versatility and maturity that convinced the Milan hierarchy he is ready for the step up to the senior squad. His performances drew interest from several clubs, but Milan moved decisively to secure his signature.
Both players have been training under head coach Rúben Amorim from the first day of pre-season at Milanello. They are expected to feature in Wednesday's friendly against Celtic in Glasgow before flying to Australia for the club's pre-season tour. Amorim has requested the opportunity to evaluate them during these friendlies and has not ruled out keeping one or both for the upcoming Serie A campaign.
Crucially, both Camarda and Comotto are eligible for UEFA's B-list, meaning they would not occupy a spot in Milan's senior 25-man squad registration, providing valuable tactical flexibility for Amorim.
Several Italian and European clubs have already made inquiries about loaning the pair, but Milan's management have opted to defer any decision until after the Australian tour, preferring to assess their development under Amorim's guidance first.
Cardinale himself welcomed the renewals with a strong statement: "Our long-term commitment to renewing the contracts of Camarda and Comotto is fully consistent with the vision I have outlined for the club since becoming its owner. We will prioritise players developed in our youth sector, support them in their development and maximise their potential so they can contribute to the team's success on the pitch.
