After being waived by the Denver Nuggets, Jonas Valanciunas has officially signed a two-year deal with the EuroLeague club Zalgiris Kaunas. Per Zalgiris' official announcement, the Lithuanian center put pen to paper on a contract running until the end of the 2027-28 season.
Following 14 years in the NBA, Valanciunas is returning to Europe to officially join the Lithuanian EuroLeague side. Per BasketNews sources, the 34-year-old is expected to earn around €5 million (approximately $5.5 million) over the two years in Kaunas.
Last season, Zalgiris finished fifth in the EuroLeague regular season before being eliminated in the playoff series against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul. In 2025-26, Valanciunas played 65 games for the Nuggets, averaging 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 58.2% from the field and 30.8% from three-point range. With his signing confirmed, Zalgiris have completed their roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
