Dimitris Giannakopoulos put an end to the transfer rumours with a live announcement on Instagram: Juancho Hernangomez will stay at Panathinaikos and sign a new contract. The twist lies in its length, which the owner left entirely to the player to decide.
During his usual late-night social session, the Greek businessman reaffirmed that the Spaniard will keep wearing the green jersey and promised a renewal "for as long as you want". Hernangomez, who came from Spain's Liga ACB (two seasons with Estudiantes) and seven years in the NBA, joined Panathinaikos in 2023. With the Athens club he has already won the EuroLeague in 2024, one Greek championship and two Greek Cups.
