Giovanni Minardi, son of Minardi F1 team founder Giancarlo Minardi, has officially filed a civil lawsuit in Bologna court against Formula 1 championship leader Kimi Antonelli.
Minardi claims he is owed millions in unpaid compensation for managing the young driver's early career from 2014 until his move to Mercedes in 2018. The lawsuit, lodged ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, alleges breach of management contract.
According to legal documents, Minardi claims he discovered and guided Antonelli from his karting debut, playing a key role in his rise to the top of motorsport. Antonelli's move to the Mercedes academy in 2018 allegedly ended the contractual relationship abruptly.
