Juventus have officially sent Belgium international Lois Openda to Olympique Lyonnais on a season-long loan worth €3.5m, with no option to buy included in the deal.
The Bianconeri confirmed the departure in a formal statement on Tuesday afternoon, revealing the 26-year-old forward will spend the 2026-27 campaign in Ligue 1. The agreement is a straight dry loan, meaning Openda will return to Turin at the end of the season unless the clubs negotiate a separate permanent transfer.
Openda's year in Serie A proved a significant disappointment. The striker arrived from RB Leipzig last summer on an initial €3.25m loan with an obligation to buy for a further €42.75m — a total package of €46m that made him one of Juventus' marquee signings. However, he managed only two goals in 34 competitive appearances across all competitions, with just nine starts. During the final two months of the season, Openda made only one brief substitute appearance as Juventus struggled to build momentum.
