Marco Bezzecchi has undergone a routine procedure to clean his left knee following his heavy crash during qualifying at the German MotoGP Grand Prix, held at the Sachsenring from July 10–12, 2026. The operation, described by Aprilia Racing as a "routine procedure," was carried out to treat a wound sustained in the accident.
The Italian Aprilia rider had already undergone surgery on a fractured collarbone the day after his Q2 crash. The double operation marks a difficult period for Bezzecchi, who has not finished a Sunday race since his victory at Mugello in May.
According to the official statement from Aprilia Racing, Bezzecchi has already been discharged and returned home. He is now focused on rehabilitation ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, scheduled for August 7–9. "Bezzecchi has already returned home and will continue his rehabilitation ahead of the Silverstone GP," the statement reads.
