Mercedes has software fix for George Russell's power unit glitch

Russell confirmed the problem was linked to calibration issues in the power unit software, not a hardware failure. The same issue also affected Oscar Piastri at Spa.

The British driver expressed confidence the fix would be applied for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Mercedes worked intensively to identify the root cause after Russell reported intermittent power loss during the Belgian weekend.

"It was a calibration issue, not hardware, so we're confident the fix will resolve it," a team spokesperson said. The solution will be tested during practice in Hungary before full implementation for the rest of the weekend.
