Tokito Oda has confirmed his dominance of men's wheelchair tennis by claiming his third Wimbledon singles crown on the grass of London. The Japanese world number one and defending champion swept aside Britain's Alfie Hewett in Sunday's final on Court One, winning comfortably 6-1 6-1.
At just 20 years old, Oda secured a sixth consecutive Grand Slam singles title and remains unbeaten across the four majors since the 2025 Australian Open final, where Hewett got the better of him. The Japanese star's winning run now stretches to twelve months and points towards the US Open, where he will chase further silverware.
Hewett, 28, the 2024 Wimbledon singles champion, was undone by a fragile serve: three double faults in his opening game, six in the first set and ten across the match. The day before, the Briton had lifted a seventh Wimbledon wheelchair doubles title alongside Gordon Reid, but for the second straight year he was beaten by Oda in the singles final at SW19. "Right now I'm extremely disappointed, it wasn't the performance I wanted today," he said courtside.
