Olimpia Milano have made their first major statement of the summer market, announcing the signing of centre Moses Wright on a multi-year contract. The 2.07m big man arrives from Zalgiris Kaunas, where he produced the best season of his European career in 2025-26.
Wright, 27, born in Raleigh, North Carolina, joins the Italian champions as the long-term replacement for Josh Nebo, who left after leading the club to the Scudetto. The move, orchestrated by general manager Daniele Baiesi, comes after Wright activated a buyout clause in a pre-agreement he had signed with Barcelona. According to reports, the clause allowed him to walk away from the Catalan club after the departure of head coach Xavi Pascual, and his new two-year deal with Milano is reported to be worth around $3.5m.
The numbers explain why Milano moved so decisively. Wright averaged 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds in 23.6 minutes per game in the EuroLeague last season, shooting 60.1 percent from two-point range, and helped Zalgiris claim the Lithuanian league title and domestic cup. In the playoff series against Fenerbahce, which Kaunas lost 3-1, he produced 13.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
