Olivier Nkamhoua has completed Barcelona's first EuroLeague transaction of the offseason, joining the club on a contract running until 2028. The Finnish forward is the opening piece of Barcelona's roster rebuild ahead of the 2026/27 season, as the club works through a turbulent summer.
Nkamhoua, 26, arrives after an impressive campaign with Varese, where he averaged 16.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He caught the wider European attention during last summer's EuroBasket, in which Finland reached the latter stages and eliminated Serbia. The 2.03m forward will be only the second Finnish player in Barça's basketball history, after Petteri Koponen (2016-18).
The move comes as Barcelona confirms a major roster overhaul, with several experienced players leaving the club, including the retired Jan Vesely, Tomas Satoransky, Miles Norris, Youssoupha Fall and Will Clyburn. The Catalan side is also still searching for a new head coach and sporting director, an uncertainty that has affected its planning.
