The Royal Belgian Football Association has announced it will not renew Rudi Garcia's contract, with the French coach leaving the Red Devils after leading them to the World Cup quarterfinals, as reported by [AP News](https://apnews.com/article/belgium-coach-garcia-7eae7d6464105b917a2d180749f92f7a). Garcia failed to reach agreement on a contract extension with the federation.
Garcia was appointed Belgium coach in January 2025 as the successor to Domenico Tedesco, taking over a team in the middle of a generational transition amid financial constraints. Despite the challenges, he guided the Red Devils to the World Cup quarterfinals, where they were beaten by eventual champions Spain.
"Garcia has unquestionably played a key role in restoring the Belgian Red Devils," said Belgium sports director Vincent Mannaert. "He was appointed national coach in a challenging sporting and financial context. Thanks to his commitment and experience, team cohesion was restored and a strong result was achieved at the most recent FIFA World Cup."
