Jannik Sinner defended his Wimbledon crown by beating Alexander Zverev 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4 in the final on Sunday, 12 July 2026. For the world No. 1 it was a second consecutive All England Club title and a fifth Grand Slam of his career.
The German, chasing a second major after his French Open triumph, appeared hampered by a knee issue after slipping on the grass at a key moment in the third set. Sinner, meanwhile, flipped the momentum after dropping the opener on a tiebreak and surviving a tense 7-6(2) second set, then closed out 6-3, 6-4 with growing authority.
On his first match point, Sinner ripped a forehand winner up the line and fell onto his back — an unusually demonstrative celebration for the normally composed Italian. "This one means a lot because it was a tough one after Paris again," the champion said. "I'm proud of myself and my team."
