Torino have completed a double swoop for defenders Pietro Comuzzo and Eray Comert, strengthening their backline ahead of the 2026-27 Serie A campaign.
The Granata announced the arrivals on Wednesday, with both players having completed their medicals in Turin earlier in the day. Coach Ignazio Abate now has the duo available for training at the Filadelfia facility, where the squad resumed preparations following a three-day break after their pre-season retreat in Pinzolo.
Comuzzo joins from Fiorentina on an initial loan deal worth €1 million, with a purchase option set at approximately €20 million. The 20-year-old Italian centre-back, a product of Fiorentina's youth academy, is regarded as one of the more promising defensive talents in the country and adds youth and depth to Abate's options at the back.
Comert, a Swiss international, arrives as a free agent after parting ways with Valencia. The 28-year-old has signed a contract through to 30 June 2028. His experience across European football — having previously played for Basel, Valencia, and Fenerbahce — brings a seasoned presence to the Torino backline.
The double defensive addition marks a clear statement of intent from sporting director Gianluca Petrachi, who has now secured four new arrivals this summer following the earlier signings of goalkeeper Mascardi and attacking midfielder Oristanio. Further reinforcements are expected before the transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, Croatian playmaker Nikola Vlasic has returned to Turin after his post-World Cup break, and Norwegian full-back Pedersen is also expected back shortly.
