Tottenham have officially excluded Guglielmo Vicario from their pre-season tour to Oceania. The Italian goalkeeper will remain in London to treat a minor injury sustained in training, but the reality seems to be quite different: the Azzurro is on his way out of Spurs and Juventus is ready to enter negotiations.
In addition to Vicario, other injured players such as Mohamed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert are also staying home, as are several players returning from the World Cup. However, for Vicario the scenario is completely different: for some time now the Bianconeri have had him on their list, along with other clubs like Napoli, as a candidate for the starting goalkeeper jersey.
Until now, Vicario's name has always been a second option after Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa. But just as the Birmingham club continues to block the Dibu, the path for the Italian goalkeeper seems to open up.
