Swiss rider Mauro Schmid (Jayco AlUla) won stage 13 of the 2026 Tour de France, the 205.8 km route from Dole to Belfort, on July 17. Schmid outsprinted Colombian Harold Tejada (XDS Astana) after a decisive move with 200 meters to go, while Tom Pidcock (Pinarello Q36.5) finished third.
The longest stage of the 2026 edition was defined by a brutal battle to make the breakaway. After more than 100 km of racing at blistering speed — 55.3 km covered in the first hour alone — a 57-man lead group finally formed. On the slopes of the Ballon d'Alsace (Category 1), Pidcock pushed the pace, cresting the summit first and becoming a major threat in the virtual general classification. On the descent, however, Schmid and Tejada found an opening 16 km from the finish and worked together until the final kilometers.
In the two-man sprint, Schmid kept his composure and edged Tejada on the line in Belfort, giving Jayco AlUla a prestigious stage victory. The main peloton finished 7'32" behind.
