On Friday, July 17, 2026, Switzerland's Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco-AlUla) took victory on stage 13 of the Tour de France, the 205.8 km Dole–Belfort, the longest stage of this edition. Schmid beat Colombia's Harold Tejada (XDS Astana) in a two-rider sprint, delivering Jayco-AlUla's first win at the 2026 Grand Boucle.
The almost entirely flat stage was raced at full speed from the start by the peloton, making a breakaway hard to establish. After about an hour, some 40 riders found themselves at the front, followed by a second group including Mads Pedersen and Biniam Girmay. The gap stretched to nearly eight minutes before Bahrain Victorious and Lidl-Trek started pulling to limit Tom Pidcock's gains on general classification, while UAE had no interest in chasing. On the climb of the Ballon d'Alsace the decisive splits were created, with Pidcock, Schmid, Tejada, McNulty, Wellens and others moving clear.
With 16 km to go Schmid attacked with Tejada on his wheel, and the duo was not caught. Schmid led the two-up sprint and beat Tejada to the Belfort line, while Pidcock finished third. The Swiss rider gave the Australian team its first stage win of 2026, and Pidcock moved into the top 5 of the general classification, reviving his podium ambitions. Jegat, meanwhile, strengthened his position in the fight for the top 10.
