S.S. Lazio have officially confirmed Gennaro Gattuso as their new manager. The Biancocelesti announced the news in an official statement: "S.S. Lazio S.p.A. announces that it has entrusted the role of head coach of the First Team to Mr Gennaro Gattuso."
Born in 1978, Gattuso brings more than a decade of experience on the bench. It is his eleventh job as a coach: after his debut as player-manager at Sion, he has led Palermo, OFI Crete, Pisa, Milan, Napoli, Valencia, Olympique Marseille, Hajduk Split and, most recently, the Italian national team.
The stated aim is to bring Lazio back to the top of Italian football, taking over the legacy of a club that aspires to return to the forefront of Serie A.
