New Zealand wing Will Jordan wrote his name into All Blacks history on Saturday 11 July 2026 in Wellington, becoming the leading try-scorer in the history of the New Zealand men's XV. His hat-trick against Italy in the Nations Championship took him to 50 tries in 56 Test matches, moving clear of every previous All Black.
The record came during a commanding 47-17 home victory. Jordan had already crossed for his 48th try late in the first half, when Italy were still in the contest — trailing 10-14 at the break after Tommaso Menoncello had opened the scoring in the third minute. Two further tries in a match-turning 12-minute spell in the third quarter carried him to the top of the all-time list. The All Blacks had looked shaky in the opening 40 minutes, but a response steered by first-five Jordie Barrett, who controlled the play and set up the winger's efforts, snuffed out Italy's resistance.
For New Zealand, the Wellington Test also answered two recent problems: patchy form at home and slow third quarters. Beyond Jordan's milestone, the night brought Test debuts for wing Josh Moorby — who came on after Leroy Carter's shoulder injury — and flanker Anton Segner.
