La Roma dominava l'amichevole precampionato contro il Cannes sul 3-0 con Donyell Malen e una doppietta di Paulo Dybala, ma l'espulsione di Wesley per doppio giallo prima dell'intervallo ha aperto la strada alla rimonta dei francesi, che hanno chiuso sul 3-3.
Il primo test esterno dell'estate per la squadra di Gian Piero Gasperini si è giocato in Francia contro il Cannes, club anch'esso di proprietà della famiglia Friedkin. Assente l'infortunato Niccolò Pisilli, mentre Manu Koné e Neil El Aynaoui erano ancora in vacanza dopo i Mondiali 2026.
Dybala ha sbloccato la partita con una punizione spettacolare all'incrocio dei pali, seguita nove minuti dopo dall'assist per il gol di Malen. Wesley è riuscito nell'impresa di rimediare due cartellini gialli prima dell'intervallo in un'amichevole precampionato, lasciando la Roma in dieci uomini.
Nonostante l'inferiorità numerica, Dybala ha firmato il 3-0 dopo l'intervallo raccogliendo un filtrante di Devyne Rensch. Il Cannes ha però reagito: Julien Lopez ha segnato una doppietta con un bolide sotto l'incrocio e un gol nel finale, prima che Brice Oggad trasformasse un rigore all'ultimo minuto per il fallo di Artem Dovbyk, fissando il risultato sul 3-3.
La prossima amichevole della Roma è in programma il 1° agosto a Cardiff contro il Cardiff City.

Cannes 3-3 Roma: Dybala brace, but Wesley red card ruins friendly
Roma were cruising 3-0 in their pre-season friendly against Cannes with Donyell Malen and a Paulo Dybala double, but Wesley's red card before half-time triggered a second-half collapse as the French side fought back to 3-3.
The first outdoor test of the summer for Gian Piero Gasperini's side took them to France to face Cannes, also owned by the Friedkin family. Niccolò Pisilli missed out through injury, while Manu Koné and Neil El Aynaoui were still on vacation following the 2026 World Cup.
Dybala opened the scoring with a magnificent free kick into the top corner, followed nine minutes later by his assist for Malen's goal. Wesley then produced an extraordinary feat of earning two yellow cards before half-time in a pre-season friendly, reducing Roma to 10 men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Dybala extended Roma's lead to 3-0 after the break, running onto a Devyne Rensch through ball. Cannes mounted a spirited comeback: Julien Lopez scored a ferocious volley into the roof of the net and added another late on, before Brice Oggad converted a last-gasp penalty for Artem Dovbyk's foul to make it 3-3.
Roma's next friendly is on August 1 in Wales against Cardiff City.
