1. FC Köln have officially announced the signing of Reigan Heskey. The 18-year-old attacker joins from the Manchester City under-21s and has signed a deal running until 30th June 2031. The German club confirmed the move on 17 July 2026.
Born in Liverpool on 18 January 2008, Reigan is the son of former England striker and Premier League legend Emile Heskey, who featured in more than 500 Premier League games and scored over 100 goals. Reigan grew up in Australia, joined the Manchester City Academy at the age of 8 and was called up to the under-21 side at 16. He made his first-team debut on 24 September 2025 in the League Cup tie against Huddersfield Town, brought on late by Pep Guardiola alongside his brother Jaden. Between the under-21s and the first team he registered 18 goals and nine assists, while at England youth level (under-17s, 18s and 19s) he scored seven times in 22 appearances.
Managing Director Thomas Kessler praised the new recruit: "Reigan has developed incredibly well in the past few years with Manchester City and is one of the most exciting attacking talents in his age group. We see a lot of potential in him, and we are convinced that he can make the step up to the next level at FC. In René, we also have exactly the right coach to guide him along this path, thanks to his motivational approach and his excellent rapport with young players. Reigan has a lot of qualities: he's physically strong with a real eye for goal. He has a lot of pace, and is able to play in several positions."
