AC Milan have officially completed the signing of 20-year-old French defender Sankhoun Diawara from Ligue 2 champions ESTAC Troyes, the club announced on Wednesday. Diawara has signed a contract until 30 June 2031 with an option to extend, and will wear the No. 13 shirt for the Rossoneri in the 2026-27 season.
Born in Paris on 13 January 2006, Diawara began his football education at FC Solitaires Paris and CA Paris-Charenton before joining Troyes' academy in 2020. The left-footed centre-back, who can also operate at left-back, made his first-team debut in November 2024 in the Coupe de France and went on to establish himself as a regular during the 2025-26 campaign.
Diawara made 17 appearances across all competitions last season, playing a key role in Troyes' Ligue 2 title triumph and their return to Ligue 1. His physical strength, technical quality, and composure on the ball marked him out as one of the most promising young defenders in French football.
