Nigeria international Akor Adams is en route to Italy to complete a €23 million transfer from Sevilla to Venezia, with the striker expected to undergo his medical examination later today.
The 26-year-old centre-forward has been the subject of protracted negotiations between the two clubs over recent weeks, with a breakthrough finally reached over the weekend. According to Sky Sport Italia, Adams is already travelling to the Peninsula and should arrive this evening to finalise the move.
The deal is structured around a fixed fee of approximately €17 million, with a further €6 million in performance-related add-ons taking the total package to €23 million. The transfer represents a significant investment for Venezia, who are reinforcing their attacking options ahead of the new Serie A season.
Adams only joined Sevilla in January 2025 when he made the move from Montpellier for €5.5 million. During his 18-month stint in LaLiga, the Nigerian forward showcased his physical presence and finishing ability, though he struggled for consistent game time at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
On the international stage, Adams has established himself as a reliable option for the Super Eagles, recording six goals and two assists in 15 senior appearances. His physicality, pace, and aerial ability make him a formidable presence in the penalty area — qualities that Venezia believe will translate well to Italian football.
To accommodate the arrival, Venezia have cleared space in their attacking department by sending centre-forward Daniel Fila out on loan to Serie B side Avellino, a move that was officially announced earlier today.
