Bologna have reached an agreement with Estudiantes for the transfer of midfielder Mikel Amondarain in a deal worth €9m plus performance-related bonuses and a 10 per cent sell-on clause.
According to Sportitalia, the Argentine club have given the player the all-clear to travel to Italy for his medical examinations, clearing the path for the transfer to be finalised.
Amondarain is an Argentine central midfielder who impressed during his time with Estudiantes in the Argentine Primera Division and Copa Libertadores, attracting interest from several European clubs. Bologna have moved swiftly to secure the emerging talent as part of their squad rebuild for the upcoming Serie A campaign.
