Aston Villa have accepted a bid of 117 million pounds ($157.4 million) from Premier League rivals Chelsea for England midfielder Morgan Rogers, 23. If completed, it would eclipse the fee Manchester City are paying Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson as the most expensive transfer ever for an English player.
Britain's Press Association reported Saturday that Rogers is set for a medical in London on Monday, after returning from his post-World Cup break, before signing a six-year contract with Xabi Alonso's Chelsea.
Rogers, who joined Villa from the Championship in 2024, has established himself as one of the Premier League's most promising midfielders and has broken into the senior England squad. Last season he was central to Villa's fourth-place league finish.
