France reached the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup with a 2-0 win over Morocco in the quarter-final at Gillette Stadium in Boston.
Kylian Mbappe broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a fine individual strike, and Ousmane Dembele added a second on 66 minutes to settle a tie the French largely controlled. Mbappe had earlier missed a first-half penalty before making the difference with a moment of quality.
The victory sends France through to a last-four meeting with Spain in Dallas on Tuesday, 14 July. Morocco, ranked seventh in the world, rarely threatened and exited a tournament in which they had been among the pre-match favourites of many observers.
