Italy claimed the bronze medal at the 2026 Women's Volleyball Nations League, defeating China 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 25-13) in the third-place match played in Macao. Less than 24 hours after their semifinal loss to Brazil, Julio Velasco's team showed tremendous character to bounce back with a commanding performance.
Italy dominated the first set (25-16), lost the second narrowly (23-25), then regained composure to close out the match in the fourth set. Middle blockers Omoruyi and Meli were instrumental at the net and in attack.
This bronze medal confirms Italy's continued growth in international women's volleyball, cementing their place among the world's elite after several years of strong results.
