Juventus have completed the departure of Lois Openda, sending the Belgian forward to Olympique Lyonnais on a dry loan worth €3.5 million until June 2027, with no option or obligation to buy included in the deal.
The Bianconeri announced the agreement in an official statement on Tuesday, confirming that Openda will spend the 2026-27 season in Ligue 1 after a disappointing single campaign in Turin. The 26-year-old arrived from RB Leipzig last summer in a deal structured as an initial €3.25m loan with an obligation to buy for a further €42.75m — a combined package worth €46m.
What followed was one of the most underwhelming individual campaigns in recent Juventus history. Openda managed only two goals in 34 appearances across all competitions, finding the net against Roma in Serie A and Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League. More strikingly, just nine of those outings were from the starting XI. Over the final two months of the season, the Belgium international made only one brief substitute appearance, watching from the bench as his team-mates struggled through the run-in.
