Belgian striker Lois Openda is set to leave Juventus on a paid loan deal with a buy option to join Olympique Lyon. The transfer is expected to be finalized between the end of this weekend and the beginning of next week, with the player due in France for medical tests and contract signing.
Openda arrived at Juventus in the summer of 2024 for a fee of 44 million euros plus bonuses from RB Leipzig, but struggled to establish himself in the Bianconeri attack, scoring just two goals in the Juventus shirt. His Italian adventure is therefore ending early after less than two seasons, with the French club looking to bolster their attack ahead of upcoming Ligue 1 fixtures and European competitions.
Juventus, for its part, has decided to accelerate outgoing transfers to free up an attacking spot ahead of Kolo Muani's arrival, expected in the coming weeks to complete Thiago Motta's attacking department. Openda's departure therefore allows the Bianconeri to balance their books and make room for the new signing, while also reducing the wage bill.
