Larne booked their place in the second qualifying round of the Champions League for the first time thanks to a 2-1 win over nine-man Tre Fiori at Inver Park on Tuesday 14 July.
Pietro Mengucci stunned the home crowd with a strike from an acute angle after 11 minutes, but Matt Ridley levelled before the break, meeting Ronan Doherty's inswinging free-kick with a close-range header. Dan Bent then put Larne ahead for the first time from the penalty spot after Matty Lusty was fouled in the area.
Tre Fiori finished with nine men: Simone Rea and Tommaso Bernardi were both shown two yellow cards in quick succession in the second half by referee Sigurd Kringstad. Larne sealed a comfortable 3-1 aggregate victory and now face Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade in the second qualifying round, with the first leg at Inver on 21 July.
