The 2026 World Cup final, scheduled for 19 July in East Rutherford, will pit Spain against Argentina. The two semi-finals, played on 14 and 15 July in the United States, decided the line-up of finalists: Spain beat France 2-0 in Arlington, while Argentina overcame England 2-1 in Atlanta.
In the first semi-final, played on 14 July at AT&T Stadium in Arlington (70,176 spectators), Spain opened the scoring through Mikel Oyarzabal's 22nd-minute penalty and doubled their lead with Pedro Porro on 58 minutes. France could not find a way back and exit the tournament before the deciding match, with Iván Barton officiating.
The second semi-final, played on 15 July at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (68,239 spectators), was tighter. England went ahead through Anthony Gordon in the 55th minute, but Argentina turned it around late on: Enzo Fernández equalised in the 85th minute and Lisandro Martínez struck the winner in the 90th+2nd minute to book Argentina's place in the final, with Ismail Elfath in charge.
